Mystery robbery at Block Tower 21! Bad Moosbacher Anzeiger at 16th May 2006

As our reporter was informed by the Moosbach police report of this weekend, the Moosbach-Rheinheimer Eisenbahn is affected by a crazy theft.

At the construction area of the new signal tower on track kilometre 21 during the weekend thieves have stolen windowpanes, heating installations, railings for the stairs as well as finished concrete units for stairs. As described by police investigator Sergeant P. Hund, the police is facing a cryptical mystery. Well informed groups assume an act of revenge by the local transport association against the MRE to avoid the finishing of the new block tower.

Even with their up-to–date equipment including the new local search dog squadron the police is making no progress in investigating the background of the mysterious theft. Arresting the usual suspects has brought no progress in the investigation.

With the new block system in place the MRE will be able to run the new 2001 build 5m track section in half-duplex mode which can increase clearly the capacity of the MRE on their heavily used main line.

August Klotz, Director for super constructing at the MRE, is calling the loss caused by the thieves indescribable, since bringing the signal tower on duty will now take an uncertain amount of time.
